Michigan 38 Northwestern 0

Back to back to back shutouts. First runback of an opening kickoff in ages, stats, more stats, wow did you see that!? As amazing as this game was, what brings even more amazment is this team is infected with the Harbaugh. He has this (whole) team playing fundamental football. Going into a rivalry game, this is paramount. Beat State!

@Maryland 0 Michigan 28

A very shaky first half but a determined Defense held Maryland off. The second half saw better play on both sides of the ball and smothered any opportunities for Maryland to move the ball. Great way to open conference play, with another shutout. Go Blue.

Side note: Game was rescheduled to earlier in the day due to weather from Hurricane Joaquin.

Michigan 31 BYU 0

09/26/2015 (Win)
Amazing day of football at The Big House. I see a team buying into a coaching philosophy and a coach that is fully engaged it bettering his athletes. Looking forwarWd to B1G Play. Pic: Darboh. Hat tip to Rudock for his improved decision making. Growth.

Michigan 28 UNLV 7 (Win)

Good win going into BYU game, hoping for a great week of practice. The "Rudock's" need to cease. Breakout game for Ty Issac.

Michigan 35 Oregon State 7

Established a run game. Good foundation to build upon.

Michigan 9 Nebraska 23

This was a tough road loss to get over. I think the decision to put Bellomy at QB was a big mistake and it cost the team a win.

My opinion, Gardener would have been able to create more regardless of him not taking snaps. At least put him in for a series or two to see how he would react, couldn't have been any worse.

Soggy Homecoming Drubbing. Michigan 45 Illinois 0

This was an outcome I did not expect. With the bad weather and the past shootouts between these teams, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to relax and watch a game.

Denard came out with what looked like an injured pinky on his throwing hand. I hope it is not bad, we more than need him for Michigan State next week. Denard also went over 10k yards of offense.

Loved to see the backups get in there and make plays.

It is officially #BeatSTATE week and I still hate the Fighting Irish.

I will be flying in to Michigan this week, I can not wait.

Go Blue!

Oh the pain, the pain

Looking forward to the Bye week. I know I need it, not sure if it will be a good or bad thing for the team, actually I don't think it will make any difference.

No, I am not all gloom and doom, I just see the reality of the situation. This Michigan team just isn't that good of a team.

Like I have said before, it will take a few years (at least) to get top notch athletes into this program that will flourish in this system.

Two bright spots this past weekend were, Sam McGuffie is the man! and I got to sit and relax and watch tOSU crash and burn and get absolutely embarrassed once again in Prime Time on National TV.

Notre Dame beating Michigan was really not a huge surprise, but many felt that tOSU was going to actually give USC a game. Once again Pete Carroll out coaches and out athletes another Big Ten "Powerhouse". The Big stage just doesn't seem to suit Jim Tressel. Hmmm I think I remember many Bucknut fans talking that way about Lloyd Carr. I mean sure Michigan got punked by Carroll a few times but, hey at least Michigan actually felt the turf in the end zone a few times.

Well I am not going to pull any hair out about this season, although every loss hurts, I could never stop supporting the Michigan team and program. Looking forward to better times.

Cheers, have a great season of Tailgating and GO BLUE!

Michigan v Notre Dame Week

"To Hell with Notre Dame"

1989, The Big House, on a rainy September 16th. This game and the two kickoff returns by Rocket Ismail sealed my hatred for the golden domers. Although this wasn't my first game at the Big House, it was one of my first memories as a teenager and a young burgeoning Michigan fan.

I can still hear the pitter patter of the rain hitting my parka and every time Michigan beats Notre Dame I feel it is just one more step in the redemption they have to pay for ruining one of my first Big House experiences.

This season both teams come into this game looking like dogs that need to be put out of their misery, but as the years have taught me, this rivalry brings out the best in these athletes. the stats, wins and losses all mean nothing when the whistle blows this Saturday at Notre Dame.

Some recent History of this Rivalry. Article about Wies and "To Hell with Michigan", and highlights from last years game.

2002 M 23 ND 25

2003 M 38 ND 0

2004 M 20 ND 28

It will Fit (Gritting Teeth)

8,10,8,10,10,8...

Reality; Neither QB can throw, neither can run. The Defense almost got burnt BIG TIME, three times, Notre Dame will exploit that weakness in the Michigan secondary. The M pass rush will HAVE to get pressure on Clausen or they will be throwing over the top alllll day. ND's line is big so the Michigan secondary is going to need to step up.

The Barwis factor was apparent again, with the Michigan Defense seeming faster and stronger the later the game went. A win at Notre Dame will rest squarely on the Defenses shoulders.

The game was Ugly and on par with watching paint dry, but a win is a win, number one for RR.

Fear of the Unkown

It hasn't really hit me until now, that sick feeling deep in my gut. Yes I get it every season days before the opener but this season is different, much different.

Everything is different, I have been screaming for change for years (not Obama change) change within the Michigan program. Now I have gotten my wish and it is now making me ill. I want success for this team so bad it hurts.

I feel like a kid who has done something wrong and is waiting for his dad to get home, fantasizing about how gruesome the punishment will be, how I will most likely never walk again, see again or ever be let out of the confines of my bedroom until I am 35. My mind racing and going into the darkest of places, putting me in scenarios of a soldier in Vietnam getting dipped into the sewage of the village and swatted with bamboo by angry one eyed smoking interrogators. Then, when my Dad just gives me a good talking to and lets me go on my way, I wonder why, why did I torture myself?

It just can't be stopped I can't control the fear I have of the unknown. I need to know what will happen Saturday, but alas I will not know until it happens, unless Mcfly rolls up in the Delorean in the next day or so.

Truth is, I enjoy and hate this feeling, it is what makes being a Michigan fan and a College Football fan so special. The agony of defeat is never as bad as your mind makes it and the thrill of victory is that much sweeter when it is not expected.

Looking forward to the Utah game, Go Blue!

Hoosiers Drink From Flamingos

Flabongos if you want to be technical.

Another summer month has ended. 29 days stands between Michigan fans and the great unknown.

Last year at this time Michigan fans were giddy with hope and excitement. Henne, Hart and Long all decided to give it the good ole college try, come back (albeit the offensive coordinator also returned) and bring home a Big 10 championship and a National Championship.

We all know where that went when App. State went willy nilly and blocked that ******* field goal. Then of course Oregon has the audacity not let the Michigan Team recover then basically used the hollowed Big House as a practice field for their next game, Michigan providing the tackling dummies of course.

The season ended on a bright note with the "slothful" Michigan team beating "Superman" and and those speedy Tasmanian devils from the SEC while Ohio State went on to drop their ninth in a row to the SEC. And of course the departure of Lloyd Carr, a glorious day for some and a dark day for others.

Now Michigan fans have a whole new set of stress triggers to deal with. New coach, new system, players leaving, (some for rival teams), lawsuit, key players bolting for the NFL, stadium renovation, tailgate space at a premium, ticket prices, new uniforms, ugly cheerleaders (oh, wait that isn't new), Utah game at 3:30 pm, you get the point.

So scrape last season's brat grease off the BBQ, clean out the cooler, down some B-Complex and get a massage. Pray that the Defense with 7 returning starters will get Michigan through the feeling out period of the first 3 out of conference games by propping up the offense which I believe will be less than functioning like a well (snake) oiled machine. Much of the Big 10 sees this as a down year for Michigan and great opportunity to pounce, lets hope RR and the team proves them wrong.

Rodriguez, Michigan to pay WVU $4 million

"Now if only that pesky lawsuit would go away" DONE
Rich Rod's first installment payment is due in November vs tOSU.
