Danger Greg Robinson, Danger !!!

The Warnings have been given.

One of many warning shots have been fired, and Michigan (with the help of late game heroics of Tate Forcier) have dodged those bullets. I don't think luck runs out, I think it changes. It is much like force, when it meets an equal or greater force, a change will occur.

As seen in the game versus Indiana the Defense seemed to rise, to certain occasions stopping Indiana 3 times inside Michigan's 15 yard line, then all of the sudden with the game seemingly in balance the defense allows the Indiana running back, Darius Willis to rattle off an 85 yard, game changing touchdown run, not to mention giving up 467 net yards to 10th or 11th worst team in the Big Ten. (Reminds me of another run)

Michigan is now going on the road for the first time this season. First to a pissed off (1-3) Spartan Stadium. I always fear this rivalry game because no matter how good or how bad either team is, it usually means very little. (Cliche I know, but true) The road game I have my butt clinched about is Iowa.

Iowa is a very well coached team and has a very tenacious defense that all but stuffed the Nittany Lions, White Out be damned. Will this tenacious defense be that force that will change the luck of Tate Forcier and the Michigan Wolverines?

Iowa does not have a devastating rushing attack, but I have NO doubt that Kirk Ferentz will concentrate on establishing the run against the undersized Michigan D-line.

Will Greg Robinson heed these warnings? The Michigan faithful can only hope, wait and see. G-Rob best tighten up this defense for Saturday's road game at MSU or he may be taking a break from the X's and O's to work on his resume.

GO BLUE !!

Can somebody shut that bumbling bucket of bolts up?!

Michigan to see the "Pistol"

G-Rob

'Michigan has been susceptible to the rush in the past two games...

"A lot was said coming into the year about the Pistol and running the ball," Lynch said. "The whole idea of the Pistol was to gain a system of balance that we could count on from week to week. We have had two straight weeks where we were really balanced."

In the Pistol, the quarterback lines up closer than in the shotgun, but not directly under center. The running back lines up directly behind the quarterback.'

Am I worried? Not really. Although I do see that some improvement is needed in the Michigan Defense. At this point If the Michigan D was to break down and allow a big rushing game for Indiana, the Offense will step up and outscore the Hoosiers.

G-Rob will have his defense ready, I am confident of that.

Ugh

AP PICTURE
"The defense has been pathetic this season. It once again exhibited difficulty tackling in space and suffering far too many blown assignments in the secondary. It made Illinois quarterback Juice Williams look better than he really is, and that's a stinging indictment for any defense. Illinois had better speed at the skill positions, but Michigan's bad execution contributed to far too many big plays for the Illini." Read the whole story: Detroit Free Press

It is unclear what is really the problem with this Michigan team, one week its the offense, another its the Defense, another it is lack of fundamentals, another it is the talent just isn't there. What is clear is, this team is NOT ready and historically has never been ready (starting with Mcnabb working Michigan years ago) for an athletic quarterback. Why is it, this program is incapable of getting a scheme to stop these QB's? Every last one of them walks all over Michigan like they are prancing in a field of Lilly's. Open field tackling goes right out the window every time a Michigan D is confronted with a player that can actually move. It has to stop and must stop or guess what? bowl games will be the last thing on all of our minds.

It will Fit (Gritting Teeth)

8,10,8,10,10,8...

Reality; Neither QB can throw, neither can run. The Defense almost got burnt BIG TIME, three times, Notre Dame will exploit that weakness in the Michigan secondary. The M pass rush will HAVE to get pressure on Clausen or they will be throwing over the top alllll day. ND's line is big so the Michigan secondary is going to need to step up.

The Barwis factor was apparent again, with the Michigan Defense seeming faster and stronger the later the game went. A win at Notre Dame will rest squarely on the Defenses shoulders.

The game was Ugly and on par with watching paint dry, but a win is a win, number one for RR.

Wolverine Defeats Superman

Ron English puts together a defensive scheme to stop the "Man of Steel" and the ever so DOMINANT SEC (Riiight). Against all odds, a big point spread, four turnovers, Michigan still puts up 532 yards of offense on the "invincible" Gators. And to top it all off Michigan makes the Ohio State loss to Florida a year ago, look that much worse. (GO LSU!)

Lloyd Carr goes out with a win in his final game.

Michigan Proves, Down but not Out.

The Big Ten opener was the chance for Michigan to take the "Cinderella Man" to heart. To show a nation and many fans that had given them up for KO, that they had hit the canvas but have the HART to get back up.

Mike Hart (153 yards and a TD) and a gutsy Defense (holding PSU to 3 FG) were in this game to win it. A battle in the trenches that Michigan won.

Big Ten Game One, Michigan 14 (#10) Penn State 9.
